Digital Artifact
Photography, Artifact Illustration, Archaeological Exhibit Design, Illinois
Archaeology Public Outreach, and Art History as it relates to Archaeology.
Linda Alexander has been a Graphic Designer/Illustrator/Photographer at
ITARP since ITARP's inception in 1994. Prior to 1994 she performed as Graphic
Designer /Illustrator for both the Resource Investigation Program and FAI-270
Project beginning in 1981.
As Graphic Designer, Linda creates the covers for ITARP's archaeological
publications: books, research reports, pamphlets, and special events. In addition,
she designs exhibits, posters, business cards, and logos. Linda has designed
the cover format for ITARP's four publication series: Studies in Archaeology,
FAI-270 Series, Transportation Archaeological Research Reports, Transportation
Archaeological Bulletin. As Illustrator, Linda renders detailed and accurate
scientific illustrations of archaeological materials in a realistic technique
in pen and ink or in the medium most suitable to the unique item. As Photographer,
Linda originates color slides and black and white photographs of archaeological
materials on an almost daily basis with consideration to lighting, color,
and final image placement- for publication, use in talks, and/or displays.
Linda serves a part of the ITARP Production team. Along with the Publications
Manager and in coordination with the Media Coordinators, Linda plays an
integral role in researching, forming, and implementing design, illustrative,
and photographic
decisions.
