LABORATORY OF ANTHROPOLOGY POLICY: FACULTY/STUDENT USE OF EQUIPMENT

 1. The Laboratory of Anthropology (LOA) maintains limited archaeological field and laboratory equipment for Department members use.

2 The primary purpose of the equipment is to support the instructional program. Secondary priority will be for graduate and undergraduate student research conducted under the auspices of the Department of Anthropology.

3. Requests for equipment must be made to the Curator of the LOA in writing. The request must indicate the equipment needed, the reasons for its use, and where the equipment will be used. The Curator will retrieve the equipment and make the appropriate arrangements upon approval by the Director.

4. Equipment may be borrowed for graduate student field work if available. Student requests for equipment must be accompanied by the Advisor Confirmation of Graduate Student Equipment Needs form signed by both the graduate student and their advisor.

5. Please inform the Curator of problems with equipment. This will help the LOA to determine which pieces are in need of maintenance or repairs.

6. Borrowers are responsible for the costs of replacement or repair of equipment lost or damaged in their care.
